Im trying to determine if certain codes were standard or optional on the 89 Turbos. I know the 89s were pretty much 88 Turbo S cars, but Ive read somewhere where the full power seats in the 88s were not exactly transposed to the 89s Turbos.

So Im trying to determine how much "power" came with the standard non-sport seats on the 89 Turbo.

The car Im looking at has the following options:
437 - Full Power Seat Left
438 - Full Power Seat Right
586 - Lumbar Support Left Seat

Many times the codes on the hood sticker are codes as part of standard equipment so that alone doesnt tell me anything.

Were these three codes "upgrades" to the existing power seats on the 89 Turbos? Somewhere in my head I have it that the 89 Turbos only came standard with 4-way power seats and 437/438 turned them into "full" 8-way power seats. And then if you added the lumbar, you turned the seat(s) into 12-way (3 circle directionals on seat).

What's the scoop?

I have 2 1989's, both have/had 8 way power.

I replaced them both with custom Sport seat creations from Robert Budd.

You are right, 89's came standard with 4-way power comfort seats. The car you are looking at has those 3 extra cost options.
