Default I've been gone a while. Hi!

It’s been nearly a year since I’ve been around, but I’m back!
For those that might be interested, here’s a quick recap of the last year and what’s kept me from Rennlist, and largely from the 951.

First, there was this:

And, as soon as that wound down, I took a month and went here to visit family and decompress for a while.

Then, when I got home I found out that I needed to do some of this:

And, about the time I got the moving handled, this got pretty busy:

And over the nicer months, this has taken up a fair bit of my free time:

But, now that work’s slowed down a bit, and I’m not actively moving, I can get after the 951 project I meant tackle some time ago which is this beautiful thing I got from Josh (Rogue_Ant) something like a year ago:

For a minute, I was worried it wouldn’t fit:

But then I remembered I wanted to put it in the green one:

Amazing what you forget when you’re away for a while

So, I’ve got almost everything I need to get it in there, I think the only thing I’m missing is a turbo to intercooler hard pipe, as I’m pretty sure the stock one won’t work. Is the LR set still the most available option or has another option arisen in my absence?

Once I get the last couple of things together, I’ll dig in and post a thread on the install (and maybe try to source a better camera.. jeez those pics look bad). Good to be back, missed it here

I have the SFR 2.5" ones. Because my FMIC had a 2.5" in and out which made sense to go 2.5".

The LR ones are 2.25" IICR but are very easy to get a hold of. or check with Lart.

Sorta. Josh, and Dave Novak put it together. It's an HY35 compressor and turbine wheel on an HX35 CHRA with a Turbonetics kkk replica #8 housing machined to accept the HY35 turbine. It should be a pretty straightforward bolt-in job.

I honestly don't know. Maybe Josh will chime in with an answer. Sorry.

Because the HY uses a V-band to clamp the turbine housing on...
To mate that turbo to a KKK (or standard T3) style turbine housing, it is MUCH easier to start with the HX CHRA as it is bolt-together, just like the KKK.

I really want to hear your report on that turbo - it should be an amazing street setup!

You are not going to get a standard T3 turbine housing to work with the HY center section... not without dropping it off at a machine shop. As I mentioned, one uses V-band, the other is bolts - very different coupling mechanisms.

Sid is thinking about the HX stuff (which he has used a LOT), but the HY is different.

Love the quick updates of what you've been doing...

What "wheel controller" are you using with Forza? I'm thinking of stealing some time on my son's Xbox 1. Though the last time I played a driving game I found I was speeding more in real life...

Also Joshua, I know you have your hands full now but will this turbo configuration be available anytime through Rogue Tuning?

Is your motor a standard 2.5?

Nope - sorry. Way to hard to source all the different parts needed to make it.
