ABS brake issues...
Ok, still having issues with my ABS system. Got the right plug from Oklahoma Foreign for my Boxster ABS pump/ECU and have it wired in. Got the "antilock" light on my cluster to light up now. (After replacing a ton of cluster bulbs some previous douchebag owner removed)
Now the "antilock" warning light isn't going out and the ABS brakes aren't working. WTF!
My suspicion is the antilock brakes on the car never worked and the previous owner pulled the bulb to hide the fact they were broken.
Where do I start with trouble shooting this? Car is an '89, so factory ABS equipped, I reused all the other wiring, brake lines and ABS wheel sensors...

Hey Doc, I have the ABS test plan on my home PC, I will email it to you later.
My first guess would be a faulty wheel sensor.
Here's a good troubleshooting thread:

Looks like we solved it. Moved some of the ground near the ABS pump/ECU and now the light pops on for a second when you key on, then goes off.
Should be picking the car up tomorrow! So I'll drive it around the next few weeks and test out the ABS. I want to cycle it a few times, then rebleed the system...

Doc, how is the ABS working out? Also, was your RH/RD radiator an easy install?

Still having ABS issues. The light isn't coming on at all on the dash, system is inactive. I may have to take the car to a Porsche guru and have them look through the entire system.
RH/RD radiator fits very well, we welded up some top mounts for it to make it a very nice bolt in affair

Just to let you know, I wrestled with a similar problem for months. I even went as far as purchasing a used Bosch ABS tester, a fraction of the cost of going to a shop. Using the tester it took me 2 minutes to isolate the problem to no power getting to the controller box.
In my case it turns out that the relay was not seating correctly, I reseated, used dialectric grease on it and that would fix it. A few month later the same thing would happen all over with the same fix solving the problem.

Interesting. We got the light to come on now, but it's not turning off. Just staying solidly on, doesn't matter if the car is moving or not. Can't hear/feel the ABS pump cycling. Beginning to wonder if I have the right Boxster ABS pump in the car. The one I bought ends with "00", the one others are using successfully ends in "04".
I can buy another Boxster ABS pump with the "04" part # for $50 shipped, thinking I'll do that just to make sure it's not an issue with the pump/ecu...
