Better tires will alleviate any spinning with a 400hp flywheel or wheel hp 968/944 platform, assuming decent suspension, warm tires, and above 45 degree tarmac. Hard rubber will spin with over 400tq at the wheels in our cars close to 100mph. Gear box irrelevant. I run fairly skinny rubber, but good tires make a huge difference within the boundaries of where I'm willing to drive my 951 with confidence at speed.

Now use the exact same engine with the ~K27/11 from the 968TRS and a bit more boost will provide much better performance and a broader powerband. When my buddy lets me drive his I am able to spin the rears in 3rd gear, and that is with the wide original 18" Speedlines with decent tires.
The car makes near 400hp in a very usable manner and considering it uses the restrictive original air box that is not short of impressive IMO.

I have Michelin PS2's all round on my car, 265's on the rear. I've never had traction problems in the dry.

I don't know.. I run 275 drag radials and if I'm not careful, I'll end up in other lanes when boost comes on in second gear. I had this happen after letting the car sit for a couple weeks.
