I heard that if you chip a 944 turbo you have to switch out the DME and the KLR. Is this true or can I just buy one single chip. What chip or chipset do you guys recommend. I heard autoauthority chips are good. What should I do.

Is it difficult to use the search function or even read the stickies before posting.
You've made 3 useless threads asking the same question with out even reading.

Go ahead and start here, http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Parts/944PDIRWHP.html
That chip is 951Maxx chip and probably the best one on the market currently. My '87 ran a bit smoother after installing the chips. One other thing, they are "plug and play" so you don't need to switch out the DME or KLR, you just need to open them up, take out the old chips and install the new ones.
One caveat to this kit, those wastegate shims are a PITA to install.

The only real option nowadays should be Rogue Tuning's A-Tune.

WAY better drivability than any other AFM chip on the market. Same price as the 951MAX chip.

FWIW, when swapping chips, carefully note where the notch is in the old chip before you remove it from the circuit board. Take a picture or mark it and the circuit board with a Sharpie.
The new chip should have its notch oriented the same way, lest you put it in backwards.
That said, when I installed a new aftermarket chip some years ago, I did so as stated above. The car would not start or stumble. Finally, I got up the nerve to reverse the chip, and she immediately started and ran fine. So, not all aftermarket chip makers seem to program their chips vs. notch direction in the same way as OEM...
