Default Simulated 2012/13 911s run

Fired up the good old simulator today on the way to work, I programmed it with 1988 951 Silber Rosa 250 hp, low mileage runs great, completely stock..

A nice clean 3.rd gear pull is always on hand when entering the highway...have a pizzavan in front, its a dual line highway, passes that van only to see a black 911 (911s, 2012/2013, 400 hp assumed stock) in the rear mirror..I enter the right lane in front of pizzavan, slow down to about 80-85 km/h, waiting for the 911 to line up to the left..it gets there, owner doesnt look at me at all (But I'm sure he know I was there..girlfriend next to him).

We cruise EXACTLY similar, door to door, can almost smell the GF's perfume.. I am in 3rd just waiting for the obvious...nothing...I look at them again, but driver doesnt even look at me, then BANG, he flicks the handle ( I can hear it shifts fast (PDK) and revs hard, quick and noisy, like his engine was just told to work 100%, which it was)

But the old 951 is ready, he only gets 1 meter ahead until I am in full boost and optimum sprint in 3rd..

We accelate side by side basically evenly! He maybe pulls 2-3 meters maximum in front of me, and I'm on top of my 3rd gear after a 300 m sprint, where he then starts turning right, with me basically next to him, so I slow down because I know why, he need to take the same exit to the right as me, so I let him go first...

He either knew I was there and just had to do it to not miss his exit, or he thought I was way behind and just started to turn...Well, I pretty much ruined his day with the old pink porsche..
After exit there is a roundabout, where he stops to go left, me next to him to go right, I look over to see GF looking at me smiling, but driver just looked straight...

I know the 3rd gear sprint in a good working 250 hp turbo is the optimum for the car, but didnt expect it to fight so hard with a new 911.

To his excuse he had one more passenger, and was of course not aware of the 951s capability in this type of sprint..

Signed off the simulator and went to work.

Good simulated (almost) kill for a stock motor, with a few basic mods you would have left him for dead. The third gear 70 roll in a 951 is brutal, punches way beyond its weight.

Nice run. That 911 is a little heavier by a couple hundred lbs. + w/ a passenger so any hp advantage is minimal in the 3-4 gear mid-range pull where the 951 is designed to do. I honestly believe that a 951 really gives ~50hp to the other car and if the other car is also heavier then it evens up the hp ratio quite a bit. Of course, in the all out top speed run, and from a standing start, then the 911 with modern aero, gearing and optimum weight over rear axle would comes out on top.
