Innovate LC1 or LC2 ?? Now Zeitronix :)
I am about to get a wideband and I plan on using innovate 3833 display with either LC1 or LC2. I cant use another guage in car for legal reasons so this display is best option for me. I can find both display with LC1 and LC2 on ebay and LC1 is a bit cheaper. I have had a look at innovate site and can't really see the difference between the 2 units. Is it worth getting LC2 and if so why ? The only thing I can see and not 100% sure is LC2 is self calibrating but not sure LC1 is or not.
Anyway does anyone know what adavantages LC2 has and if it is worth paying more for ?
TIA

I'd get the LC-2 ad it comes in the kit. I guess it will be quicker ect. $250

IMO what i'd do in your car. Is move the eboost to the glove box. hook up an external set point switch to the dash blank like i did.
Put this in it's place

Bundled at $400
so you have 1 round gauge that can read boost, AFR and what ever else you feel like looking at.

I threw my LC1 in the trash after a week, complete junk and waste of money. Replaced it with an AEM UEGO which I've had in several cars for years and works great.

Hmmm Zeitronix stuff looks the biz but wondering if I could run the LCD and the ZR2. It says you can run multiple ZR2's but not sure if I can run one with LCD. Anyone know if it is possible ?

Dont forget to look at PLX devices they have a nice touch screen gauge that can interface with a bunch of their sensors at the same time. Also its priced right around the AEM UEGO.

PLX are good. Except the only thing i don't like is each time you want to log/view something else, you need a whole new module.
I'd use PLX devices if i had to retain the factory computer but log a bunch of things accurately. But it gets quite costly!!

Main reason I was thinking innovate 3833 display was due to size and ease of mounting(as another gauge is not an option) but really like the Zeitronix unit now as has a lot of options and looks like it is a sharp/crisp display so functional too. The eboost will be moved to glove box, which was always the plan, once set up to my liking. Unfortunately down here gauges are illegal if above height of dash otherwise would have built a custom A pillar mount with a few gauges.
Eric how easy to read do you find the LCD and what else do you display beside AFR ? I am thiking boost but interested what other info you find usefull
cheers

I would not buy the LCD display again. I have it on one car and honestly it is a PITA to mount anywhere and I seldom look at it to be honest. The round gauge is much better in my opinion.

You can get the screen with out the case and with a ribbon instead so you can hard mount it somewhere. But i can't think of a better place than your cluster. But you'd need to hack it up. at least it'll be in front of you though. Not sure how visible the digits are though.
Thats why i bought the LM-2. Yes it's a huge hand held device. But i use a suction cup mount (i made my own using an old phone mount but you can buy the innovate one) so i could put it up and view it at the same time. Record when i need to. and i can view useful data like graphs for TPS or boost or afrs temperatures ect jut in volts though. Except the AFR is in proper numbers. and press the log button when i need to.

Here is an example of a ZR2 gauge install in, or rather on, the center vent. This is using a round vent mount GPS bracket that I found to be the exact size of the gauge. I have AFR/Boost displayed and it is very easy to see on street/track. Though certainly not as discreet as a custom install, it can be easily removed and stored if required. Not the best view but gives you an idea. I actually have 3 displays operating (2 X ZR2 & LCD display). Not really necessary since logging is available, but I ended-up accumulating the displays over time after purchasing a couple of used systems:

The PLX looks good but all those boxes would be an issue for me.
993_SC am I right thinking you have the LCD daisy chained with ZR2's ?
I think I'll still go LCD to start with, as I can always add a ZR2 if I need to, and I can feed wideband signal into the Rogue ECU thats on the way.

Technically, I suppose the LCD is in parallel with the ZR2's. I simply used a standard 4 wire telephone (North American) splitter to connect all the devices to the Zeitronix.
