Lost oil pressure!!
as soon as i got home in my driveway (driveway is like a hill). oil pressure dropped, light came on. engine sounded like it had no lubricant and can hear the lifters.
turned it off straight away. turned it over, still turns over and same noise.
Temps where good
was boosting fine this whole time
was driving fine
theres oil in the sump
no major leaks
just installed a new oil pressure gauge. Thank god for that!!
I had the power steering pump off, new power steering pump belt.
I've been having this "shake" for a bit now. went away today after securing the thermo fans as they fell onto the belts. and re packed the CV joints.
Ideas?

how to check the OPRV?
loose crank bolt? wouldn't that stop the engine?
Oil pick up? will that do it instantly? or you'll notice pressure dropping slowly because this happend in seconds.

Three Wheelin'
You can remove the OPRV with the engine in the car. Well....without power steering I can, but i don't know if that stuff will get in the way. Plus there is the RHD variable for you. Anyway, the plunger will not be seated full forward if it is stuck open.
Other than possible loss of oil pressure, the engine will run just fine with a loose front crank bolt. The key will keep the pulleys spinning in time with the crankshaft, but the key will be under a lot more stress than it should be.
I've never had a pick up tube fail, but I don't think there has been enough detailed data acquired to rule out a sudden loss of oil pressure.
I would check the crank bolt first, then move onto the OPRV. Checking the pick up tube requires dropping the oil pan, so that's a last resort. Even though you said it sounded like there was no oil pressure, it would still be a good idea to verify this with a mechanical oil pressure gauge.

Do the lifters shut up and oil pressure get back up when you level the car? If yes, definitely cracked pickup tube. My car started with noisy lifters at idle after a while driving. Then oil pressure started dercreasing at idle. Then when i drove on hills or parked on my driveway they would get all noisy. Once parked inside garage, back to normal.
Spent a lot of time and money denying it was a broken pickuo tube until I decided to open it up and wa lla!!

If the crank bolt comes a little loose, it will no longer squeeze the pump drive, allowing it to slip. If it is loose, I would inspect the key as Alex mentioned prior to reassembly.

I've had a cracked pick-up tube (solid mount - race car). It was still barely hanging on. It was showing signs of pressure on and off, but still, I managed to win a race with that. So if it's the culprit, then it has fallen down the pan, otherwise you would get some pressure.
My pressure was low when I was idling, but at full throttle it was ok. But if I were you, I would not test that...

I'll try the crank first.
the gauge has been dead for a bit, but when i replaced it. It always had 5 bar. when hot, low in idle and would hit 4 bar on accel with no issues.

Could just be a faulty pressure sender. Had a new one play up. Did it 3 days after I fitted it, next day it was fine. But as you said your getting noise lifters probably not
