CF DF VS SPEC 3
Looking at a new cluch for my freshly built 2.8L! Dont know if i should get the spec stage 3 or the centerforce duel friction. - My pops Jbrown has a DF in his 930 with mid 400 whp, But it is also more expensive love to hear input thanks!!

I thought this was going to be about a WWF matchup!

my current clutch is a spec little stronger then stock did not mind how it grabbed. A duel. Friction is a 3-6 puck also I believe anything stage 3 and up is 6 puck if I'm not mistaken!

KEP clutch assembly. If you are only going to track the car I would go with the puck. If the car is to be driven on the street at all I would go with a disc.
KEP (Kenedy Engineered Products) is hard to beat . KEP Stage 1 is 530 ft-lbs torque with the Stage 2 being 650 ft-lbs torque compared to a stock clutch which is around 380 ft-lbs. I am running the Stage 2 clutch, last dyno had my car at around 390 ft-lbs steady torque (I do not know what that translates to in peak loading), I have not slipped the Stage 2 yet.

With the KEP and 6puck no springs. you get a little shatter on 1st and reverse that is min once you have broken in. Otherwise its normal with slight heavier feel.

We are not a big fan of Spec, throughout trying many different combinations on different cars they all shutter to some degree. In our opinion thats not acceptable in a road car. So far we now have 6 cars using KEPII with stock 930 clutch disc. Its perfect engagement and holds a lot of power. We use this setup on our own 944 turbo which is a 3.0ltr 16v running 1.5bar on E85.
