Thanks Patrick, I think I'll wait and see what the Rogue DME/M-tune package costs and can do in comparison to Pauerman's standalone setup.

This discussion has turned fruity so soon.

I can see the benefits and market for both systems. For a ton of people, changing to the Rogue or Vitesse type systems has been great for them. Joshua continues to upgrade and improve upon his setup and for others a complete standalone provides them with the ultimate control and in some cases a new harness. Can't really lose either way.

Does anybody have experience with this, and if so, does it really work as advertised?

http://tunerstudio.com/index.php/tun...ioms#veAnalyze

VE Analyze Live! - Yes it really does tune the car for you while you drive! Starting with concepts of VE Analyze in MegaLogViewer 2.95 and taking it to the next level with dynamic offset record seeking. Whether your just running with rough tables or have already put hours into your tune, VE Analyze Live will dial in your fuel tables to a new state. Why does it work so well? By combining a vast tuning experience with expertise in data analytics you can leverage technology to improve your tune. An expert tuner can look at a data log record and know what changes that record is looking for, but one record can only tell so much. At best a record only shows the inputs and results at that instant in time with many other outside factors effecting the data. One record nay tell you one thing, but another on the same cell will say something else. To produce the best results you need to look at each record, identify and discard the ones that are junk due to other factors, then consider ALL quality data. That is where the human brain fails, it simply can not consider the full picture, computers can. As you drive VE Analyze live will look at all the data, filter what the junk and use weighted statistical averages to calculate the optimal values for you Fuel tables.

I used a Link ECU on my 944 turbo for years, worked well. I have a Vipec now (Link with more functions). It works great too

Yup, uses the same software, and hardware, with only slight differences, like Vipec dont need resistors wired in with peak and hold injectors. Which is why I got the Vipec. Really its a case of looking at the feature list on their websites for a direct comparison.

ECU features should be decided upon hat you needs are, but once purchased support is huge.

I think having experienced tuners on this forum that know a particular system and can support is huge. A great system poorly tuned is useless.

I heard the system discussed here offers a 4 hour training video that goes through the whole set up and use of the software. Best to have those that know about this jump in here.

Thought I would follow up on this thread.
Thanks to a fellow lister and Chris white I'll be installing a tec3r system. Main reasons were cost, features, support, and that a racer friend also has one so we can share notes. I'll update once installed.
