Do I have a fake 3 Bar FPR?
See pictures below. Are there even fakes out there? Regulator has been painted black and the paint is pealing and chipping in places. Obviously going to happen if fuel is spilled on it during removal or installation, just looks a bit suspect. Most I have seen are not painted black. Just curious, couldn't care less if the seller knew it was real or not I bought it no questions asked.

The black Bosch 3bar is a pretty common piece, it should be good to go though it's always good to double check your fuel pressure just to make sure it's correct.

I have a black one that I bought probably close to a decade ago, and I've got a pressure gauge on my fuel rail. The paint is peeling pretty badly at this point, but it's definitely a 3 bar.
Also, as others have said, the Volvo FPRs are 3 bar and bolt in, at least from the B230F engines, and the finish on the ones I've seen were all either silver or that cadmium yellow. You can't go by what it looks like, you need to check the part number to be sure of what you've got.

Thanks again for the input guys. I have checked part numbers and I'm sure it is correct according to the Bosch numbers. However given there are fake Bosch 044 pumps (there is even a current thread where this has come up) and many other counterfeit parts out there I had reason for using its visible condition as a basis for my skepticism. You guys have assured me that they came in black so thats what I wanted to know. Thanks.

Mine looks like yours. Except yours looks like it's been thrown around a few times.
I don't have stickers on mine. Bought it off ebay too! and my fuel pressure gauge says 3 bar rising rate 1:1

5 year old thread....
But the counterfeit part situation is probably a whole lot worse now.
Scary when you look up parts by P/N on ebay. Multiple vendors selling 'factory new' German parts, for about half of going rate, from CHINA.
How in hell would new German parts wind up there?
Phony ARP bolts floating around, too...
