Default reading KLR error codes?

Tried to hook up a led thingy as instructed at http://www.lindseyracing.com/misctech.htm ... started the engine, revved a bit, and didn't get anything. Ok.

Disconnected the TPS wire, started the engine, revved... and still got nothing! The led itself worked fine..

Is there any good way to test the plug on the car? Or what else might it be (toasted KLR would probably cause my car to not run, right?)

I have been fooling around with this myself. Try reversing the leads. Unplugging the TPS on an idling car should produce an error. You should be using a 12V LED with built-in resistor. I got mine in Radio Shack like Lindsey said.

I have been leaving mine plugged in all the time (while I figure out what is wrong with my car). When I turn on the ignition to start the car it light up.
Sometime I get no errors, sometimes a KLR fault and sometimes it flashes at high frequency like a timing light at 5000 revs.
