Default What are you building your car for?

Over the years I've seen a lot of interesting things done to/with 944s on these forums; things way cooler than using compressed air and PVC pipe to launch projectiles(thanks Jeremy Clarkson and Jesse James). With these cool projects are a lot of unique goals from club racing to drag racing to making the most fuel efficient 944. I think it would be kinda cool to start a thread discussing why we do the things we do and what's in store for the machines we pour our blood, sweat, and tears into.

I build mine to be driven daily, capable of carving through the canyons, and drag raced weekly during the summer. Looking to do more road racing and standing mile races this coming year.

Moreso though, I just like trying differnt things and this car is a pretty good platform for it.

I built one for track use only , 1 for just hauling butt, 1 for just good driving and 1 for show .
sometimes they get confused and intermixed on usage.

Fairly typical path from me too. Start out with a mostly stock car and do one or two things with the intention of doing some club track stuff. 5 years later and the result is quite a bit further than I'd ever imagined. Would still like a nice 951 as a road car but not worth it down here. Too many police/cameras and poor drivers to enjoy it sad to say...

...for the only two commuter routes which interest me...
(1) London - Nurburgring - London;
(2) London - Spa - London

With some high-speed sightseeing mid-commute!

I'm not sure if it's a technical term... but I have "Panty-Dropper Project" as the file name for my parts lists/expenses/misc spreadsheet for my car

After we started driving my dads super nice 951 somewhat regularly, we decided to get another to keep the miles down on his. Now my 951 is my daily driver and we take his for the car shows.
