Is this cylinder head basically useless with the damage pictured? Thanks!

I would say that if that is the only damage to it then no it is fixable with a helicoil and using a little silicone around that area.

However, turbo heads are not really that expensive if you're truly worried about it.

Ps, if that's the case.. I'll gladly take it off your hands.

No a decent machine shop should be able to fix it. It will take a little more than a dab of silicon.

I'd think you'd want to weld it, then resurface the tower deck, and heli-coil that hole. How'd it happen? If there was contact inside the cam tower, then that may not be the only damage...

Other than the damage pictured, it seems to be in nice shape.

I actually don't know what / how that happened. I bought a parts car (motor completely apart) and this was part of it. The parts car had 70k on the odo so low mileage.

I'd let it go for $100 + shipping if anyone is interested. I'll upload a couple more pictures.
