Try adjusting the "hard stop" on the throttle?

I have my doubts about using what 'clarks' describe's as the Idle Adjustment Screw. Yes, it affects Idle, but its more of a Air/Fuel adjustment, - it's an Air Bypass that skips input from the TPS. I have mine glued in at 3/4 off Seat, and set rpm's off the hard stop with the TPS loose and on the Micro Switch. I may be wrong, but I'll risk the flame till the BuilderGroup chime in.

I had a high idle so followed clarks method and ended up with screw out to almost max. Car now coughs a bit on throttle over run which it didn't do before. I think you are right but would love a bit more detail info so I can give it a go.
TIA
