Default quirk of the day

So I am finishing up the wiring on my 968 turbo cab and I came across something interesting in the Porsche PDF manuals -

Do you suppose its just a coincidence that the Alarm System schematics start on page 666?

For those that haven't had the pleasure of dealing with S2 / 968 alarms - they are tied into everything and they are a major pain. If your car stereo is removed or stolen your car won't start....WTF?

Yep, I had a no start on my S2 that was caused by a bad airbag module that somehow fried the horn then the alarm module.

Relevant pages in this perspective would be pages 3, 7, 11, 13 and 33.

my 968 alarm gave me fits last year. every time it rained hard. then for days after.

couldn't lock the car without setting it off. so I finally resorted to disconnecting the battery a few times whenever 1. raining or sometimes not raining. 2. must lock car.

in attempts to stop the alarm from blowing at all-hours, I disconnected stuff -- and then the damn car wouldn't start.

even tried disconnecting the horn relays, fuses.... horns still blew.

loudest god-damned horn in creation. and German engineers are possessed by Satin.

since silk worms produce satin, is this then a good thing ultimately, or do we now have something else to worry about ?

I would guess that when they were designing and building the 944 they were possessed by Polyester.
