Thanks RB. It's a great feeling to have the car producing such good results in such a short time. Can't wait to get back out onto the track to continue my 'education' with the new car.
Side effect: My neck has been hurting this week and I'm sure it's to do with all the extra grip the car is producing!

295/30 x 18" Yoko AO50's all round Steve. Been a while since I've done any driving but I'm impressed with these so far. Softs are very sticky but you don't get a lot of laps out of them.

I'm really curious how these compare to slicks. I think the slick must still be more stable with the stiffer sidewalls but I'm not sure how much difference there will be in the times? Also the R specs get to heat much quicker I suspect...but, at what cost. If you want to run the Soft compound in the R spec I would say you can get very good times but with a very limited duration for each heat cycle and quite possibly fewer useable heat cycles overall. I will be trying slicks next season. Not sure on compound comparison on slicks, nor how many heat cycles one gets out of their softer compounds?

That's one mean car you have Patrick.
I used slicks (Hoosier R80) for the first time last week and they had a lot more grip than the Hankook Z214 c51 that I used right after them. No idea how long the slicks last but they did a 2 hour stint on my car no problem. I suspect heat cycles would get them before running out of rubber.

Thanks Eric. I've run the R80's before and thought they were pretty good but it wasn't really for long enough to form an educated opinion. Might try them again but I've also heard a few issues surrounding Hoosiers on the Racing forums?

Hi Patrick - nice work out there! Annoying cup cars is one of the finer things in life, they usually just come over to the garage and stare at the car from 50'!
You will like the GTX turbo - very similar to the one I posted graphs on a little while ago, I am looking forward to comparing your charts when you get it dynoed. should be 1 bar at 3600-3700 rpm.

Thanks Chris. This one definitely 'feels' like it's coming on in a more contemporary nature. The previous on was fun but just a bit harder to drive out of corners with the lag/bang aspect. I actually need to stop spending for now which fortunately coincides with the season coming to a close...even though I'd like to be out there most weekends having just 'unwrapped' the car. Re grouping sounds sensible though.

Three Wheelin'
Patrick,
Long road back but now you get to enjoy it. How about posting some photos of your body build. I am about to "get wide" and working out some of the details. Expect to run a square setup of 295/30/18's as well and curious about how your wheels are set up, spacer etc.
Regards
