Default Rear speakers for 86' 951

Hello I am new here and i just bought some alpine 6 by 9 speakers for the rear door panels. I heard that I need some modifications for them to fit, is that true? It's a 1986. If I need to do some modifications what are they and can I do it myself?

6X9 is too big. Thats a 4X6. This is on an 87.

6X9's will fit in the back along the rear fender well with some fabrication work underneath the carpet if one wanted to go that route.

I was able to get in ADS 7 inch rounds but it took a bit of work . They act as my subs
A little work( actually, very little ) cutting here and there, to make it round
I have the 88TS 12 speaker yada yada yada .....
I would say like Jason said 4x6 is the stock set up I am betting you could get a 6 inch round with not to much trouble ...
And yes I did it all myself
Regards
Ed

That has to be the only part on your car that's not powder coated

No, not unless you want to do a lot of cutting. Even a 4 x6 will require some fab work.

Correct 4X6 is what is there...same as the door....well the stock size for 86 and 87.

There was the option in the turbo S of more speakers but yes I mean the speaker that is a huge pain in the *** to get at holds a 4x6.

Going off the top of my head I think a 6x9 was an option in the fender well at the back. Some one can correct my if I'm wrong about the fender well but for some reason I thought a manual I have has a pic of a 6X9 there.

I don't think there was ever a factory option for the 6x9 in the rear cubby?
Or anywhere for that matter But there are people who make a kit for the cubby...
