Default 86 951 Have Abs?

Hey guys my abs brake pressure valve was leaking and I tightned it up just to have it snap in half. I need to get another valve and a new master cylinder and I need to know if the late 86 have Abs? I was planning on purchasing the metal master cylinder from Ian since its like 120. I don't see an Abs light on my dash. Thanks for the help!

Are you talking about the rear bias valve? The small cylindrical looking thing that's attached to the master? You should be able to just replace the valve... I'm sure Lart has one.

As for Ian's master... I'm running one. No issues. It may be heavier than the aluminum one but it's a hell of a lot cheaper...

Read several places that 87 is when it became standard; mine's 87 and it has it... but then I also read that 87s weren't supposed to have the venturi design and mine definitely did have it. I've wondered before if they just make a change to the production line and a few just slip by as outliers...

Yep thats the thing, every where I see it the name always has abs in it but I saw Lart having one and I can't extract the broken piece out Of the master cylinder tried but broke a bolt extractor in it so its sealed off and plugged the line that attaches to it temporarily.

ABS was an option for 87. My 87 did not have it.

I've been working out
Really not that hard but I had a 12" long wrench so maybe the leverage got the best of me. Lesson learned loosen everything and tighten it back with thread tape even if temporary lol.

BTW How did you car turn out Reno with the new paint?

For those you want to use the smaller wrenches for brake lines so wont have such leverage.
Well It escalated. I added wheels, splitter, 968 handles, waiting for 968 mirrors cant seem to find a pair for a fair price. He started to get real busy and i told him he can put it on the side to take car of this big work. Also give me time to get a couple of parts i want to install.........

I try to avoid using those at all costs, I've learned that if you've got a big enough problem that you really need to use one, you stand a high chance of breaking it and they are tough as hell to drill. I just skip right to the drill now for any stripped/broken bolts. I'll never use an extractor again after that fiasco with my crossmember that I was lucky to fix without having to drop.

Still an option in 88. Only the 88TS had it as std equipment. In 89, the Turbos and S2s had it std, but believe it was still an option on the 2.7 N/A.
