Default Difference between late and early tie rod ends

I have a question concerning tie rod ends. My car is early offset, but I've been running late offset tie rods assemblies for ~18 months in the car. They work fine, you just end up with the inner tie rods threaded fairly far into the tie rod ends, still with plenty of adjustment. I ordered new, correct early inner tie rods but they are way too short, do I just need to get early ends as well? Are the early ends much longer than the late ones? I need at least an extra inch on each side to be able to achieve zero total toe. Can anyone also tell me the length of an early and late inner tie rod? I've seen 13.75" for early and 15" for late listed, but where is that measured at? I measured the rods I took out of the car and they are 13.875" from the end to the bit where the ball joint connects to the rod, and ~16" overall. My new rods measure ~12.5 from the same points, and ~14.625 overall. This is all concerning power steering.
