From the small amount of looking around I did it looks like both individuals got out without serious injury. Pretty sure they just binned one of the original 51 964 3.8L RSRs but at least they walked away. Here's a video of the car from the same event last year:

Hope all are ok... Can't help but notice both the front tires remain pointed perfectly straight despite multiple impacts with the wall -- makes me wonder if the steering locked up somehow?

I read that the accelerator pedal was stuck. Im glad no one was seriously injured

And of course a 951 would have made the corner, the turbo wouldnt have had time to wind up on that short straight...

You are probably right, but the reality is that the 911 is always fighting you and you are always fighting the 911 to make go where you want to go, it's easier when the car helps to go where you want to go, that's the difference between the 911's and 951's

As a driver of a 951 and a 911 RSR......

YIKES

The only car of mine that would have made that corner under that scenario is my Chumpcar (924S)
cause it wouldn't have been going fast enough not to make it -- and yes it would have made
it to the corner in the first place :-)

It is one of the reasons I have 3 springs on my throttle cable. My RSR has ITBs and once while tuning it
the rods bound up -- holding it at mid-throttle. I tore the ITBs down and rebuilt the whole assembly after that.
