20w-50 oil in the summer, 10w-40 oil in the fall/winter for easier starting. I only run Brad Penn in my car. After 3000 miles my oil analysis looked great.

Synthetic Valvoline vr1 20-50 from 0-40... never saw issue with either but it gets cold here in GA and I'm usually late for work!

we haven't had a good oilwar lately.

I doubt any of the Aussies ever turned one of these engines over when it's 10°F and you're running 20w50.

it's not a pretty sound.

then try it with M1 0w50 racing oil in the crankcase. bro, it's like starting the car at effing Byron Bay.

then it pegs the needle on the long trip to Florida (like the ultra deep brad purple 30w50 does).

thinking I might run M1 0w20 racing oil for the last 30 k miles before the V8....

wait. maybe I just did that.

It's also worth noting that the M1 "racing" oil is different from the M1 oil you can buy in most generic auto parts stores. Using the M1 website's "where to buy" tool and searching for their racing oil within 500 miles of me returns 0 results.

As usual, nobody is saying use the wrong weight oil in whatever climate. For the millionth time, consult the Owner's Handbook. 30w/50???...

There may be a distributor but I don't remember seeing the name before.

the M1 racing oils are so good, they're hand-delivered by secret agents of the government.

Yep different - that's why I bring my Mobil 1 10W60 in from the UK.

(It has the same levels of ZDDP as the Mobil 1 Motorsport 15W50, and has a HTHS of 5.7)

It's 12,000 miles to freight it from the UK but I think it still works out as good value...

Cheers,
Mike

I'd be concerned with an oil that has a range from 10 to 60w. Can't possibly work like that.

To me that's like a Turbo advertising super low end response with killer top end power. Mabye VNT I guess....
