Default are my belts new or used?

I am readjusting my belts. I probably have not more than 20 miles on them. Should I be using the new belt measurements on the Arnnworx tool or the used belt. I'm thinking the new belt since they are not broken in yet.

Also, though Im using a tool to set tension, on the TB how easy should the twist to 90 degrees be?

Hello, Van's video can best describe on how tight the Cam and Balance Belts should be tightened by hand.

Cheers,

Actually I'd say save yourself the effort and wait. 20 miles isn't enough to break the belt in and stretch to its new happy length... I think you'll probably find that they're still right where you tensioned them.

The factory manual recommends 1000-1500 mile adjustment. Granted, that was with older belt technology so you might want to reduce that a bit, but 20 miles seems too soon.

They loosen a bunch when they mate up with the sprockets so you might get half the retension movement after 20 miles. If you are in there for some reason you can retension but you'd want to do it again at 1K - 1.5K If I was going to a track day or something I'd consider an early retension and wellness check. It's a great time to look for rubbing or a stud backing out or something.

I was fortunate enough to have access to one of Rockwell's retro-encabulators, and can say with some confidence that a 20-mile belt should be set to the low end of the 'New' belt tension, and then re-tensioned as recommended by Porsche when the time comes.
