that thing looks restrictive>> Have you been driving around without a cat? Im interested to know what the lag diff will be once you instal it. I installed a magnaflow cat and can;'t stand it. Just curious with your experience

depends on the cat, can be a 100-200 rpm difference.

Nice, Just wondering because im getting a 3" SS one custom made and its not too cheap. Just got my cat in yesterday and it looks great, Almost no resriction. But my car is an 87 so I do not need an etest, just a cat in place so I don't get another ticket.

I was going to install a 3.5 inch cat in my 3 inch system, hoping to reduce restriction that way and still be 'legal'

AHHH wish I had 87 for that reason but could not find one at the time so I got the 89 to play with.

Pressure drop new on most cats is approx 2.5psig. If they don't have a high pressure drop, they won't work.

To answer the OP's original question, I have the same cat and could not find any indication of direction on it. Asked around a bit on RL and the consensus was that it was not directional. As I vaguely recall, one end was slightly more tapered than the other so I put that end towards the front of the car for less drag. Picked up 5 mph on the top end
