This thread may be a bit quiet but our Facebook event page seems to be growing in attendance. This should be a good meet.

Elliott,

My family will have 3 cars at this event, my turbo, the wife is coming with her NA, and my son with his 87 NA. Thanks for putting this together.

Awesome! That means this 944 gathering will have at least one car from 4 different states!

I shaked my car around today and is ready. Now I need some pointers on how to remove the passenger side CV axle. On my car there is no room to remove that sucker out. The tranny cooling lines are on the way. Any help?
thanks

It will come out with the cooler loop still installed. As always, remove the inner CV first, and the outer CV second (it just makes things easier that way). And once you have both sides out, you should be able to pull it out the side from a funky angle. It's definitely a PITA but can definitely be done.

Worst case scenario, you can always remove the cooler loop, swap the axle, and then replace the cooler loop and put some fresh gear oil back in.

Good luck! Hope you can make it on the 10th!

YES It's PITA. The boots is what I want to replace with new grease. They're worn out but I think they can make the trip on the 11th. I'll give it a 2nd try this week.
