[I]Later that year i got pulled over for having a loud exhaust (even though it was the stock system) and wound up getting a DUI....

Sounds like he didn't bother to research much of anything with the car beforehand

So I supercharged the engine, dumped the clutch at every stop sign like a ricer, and blew up the NA transmission!

The problem these cars suffer from is owners who run them into the ground and don't fix things when they break. If you keep up with that stuff that breaks and maintenance then it doesn't become a huge moneypit. No one wants to pay the $1000-1200 to have the timing belt done. It snaps 5 years later and then the owner calls the car a piece of shiz. Same thing I hear about honda's occasionally.

I had a 924S that went 300,000 miles. It burned oil under acceleration, but still drove and ran overall pretty well.
