Don't know. Well there wasn't something loose found in there so you have to make supposition based on the clues. Looks like maybe some localised heat at the rear of the block.

Unfortunately "that" engine would not fit with class rules over here.

Piston squirters are simple enough to machine into your S2 block. I do have a spare 968 block, but it would need remachining as it has a scratched up number 4 cylinder.
