I don't get why people will mod everything but leave the god awful 1970's rear bumper on.
No offence but "I don't get why people" make comments like this especially when a guy obviously just did a great job painting his car and your comments are nothing more than personal taste.

The euro bumper is decent but the 944's tail lights are really what shows the car's age (and pop up headlights). I will eventually get the 968 rear put on, now just wasn't the time. Years ago I had a chance to buy a totaled guards red 968 from an insurance company. I was misled by somebody that said I'd be able to buy it cheaper at the local auction. It never happened and I kick myself to this day for not having jumped at the chance from the insurance company.

If anyone is local and interested in who did the paint work, it was Brandon Visser at Visser's Rod & Custom in Havre de Grace. When I was telling other car enthusiasts that I was getting my car painted, his name came up constantly as a very skilled painter and their top suggestion. They didn't know when telling me, but I had already decided on him for the work. I disassembled/reassembled the car at Cignatta's and towed it to and from Visser's.

Personally, if I had a lot more time and money to put into the car, I would've liked to have got it painted Audi Nimbus Gray. Love that color. But it would have to be done the right way. I wouldn't be happy with red in the engine bay, under the carpets, door jambs, etc. WAY too much work than I was willing to put in. I mean I gotta drive the car too!!! The time it took for this was torture enough!

Thanks again for the complements guys! I'll pass them on to the painter too.

+1 Absolutely - show a bit of respect such as " I'm not sure I like the header panel but car looks great".

Great job on the car. The header panel grabs air since it is now in the high pressure area but if you want full advantage of it, a little sheet metal, you can make a duct that will grab almost all the air.

Very nice.

(but yeah.... a Euro rear bumper or aftermarket would finish it off....)

Personally, and no offense intended to people that have done it, but I think the grafted 968 rear looks awful on our cars. It's not just the tail lights / bumper you change. The profile changes too and it doesn't suit our cars. The 968 from side on looks bulbous and tail heavy, sort of like a 996. I think your car looks great as it is, although I am also a fan of the shorter Euro bumper and a different nose panel.

I like it just the way he did it. But I also like the header panel myself.

Default I'm doing guards with clear coat on my 951

like the dual ducted vented nose vs the slotted and vote for Euro Bumper with the black trim vs our US split black bumpers and like 951 vs 968 conversion, you would want to spend another $700 on the 968 hatch glass wing to match it & also do the hockey stick side rockers and say goodbye to the nice 951 bottom but diffuser. Also prefer the amber signals vs clear on a red 951. Like the door w/ or w/o door ding molds and the side signal delete make little difference either, 968 teardrop mirrors and door handles update the car 5yrs and blend very well and the mirrors are bigger and more aero which is engineering art but doubt the handle will perform as well over time & paint will scratch.

Default Manual roof conversion HELP

does it tilt manually ? Is there a **** or crank like the manual headlight **** under near the steering reservoir ? My roof sticks and the motor getting locked into the roof sometimes, don't know which gear system it has but i cringe when it gets stuck.

is there is good thread on manual conversion roof ?

I like your look but i am biased because i Have same guards red but 18 twists are Chrome, Also debating on deleting my back wiper, all the German ones came with it & and a plastic snow scoop on front driver wiper and German lang warnings on gauges and that autozone amber second side light added and maybe a stock cat added for US grey market import thru Canada. Not sure if my Euro bumper was converted, prob was with the MPH gauge and a cat
