Default Porsche Club Sprint 2 Sydney Motorsport Park South

Hi Guys,
Here are some pictures and videos from the weekends Supersprint event held at SMP South circuit. We had great weather for the event, and a few of us set some PBs on the day.
Regards
Sean

Change quality settings to 1080p
Last session was a bit sloppy driving but a lot of fun.

Great pics and video Sean! I think it's time for some new rubber for you though. Even though it looked like fun to coat the track with 1/4" of long rubber strips!!

Nice videos, thank you for sharing. Lots of nice cars, love the corner shot for your car and Mark's.
I will have to raise the rev-limit for you, unless you get new stickier tires.

Very nice driving and very impressing car (as usual when you post videos)!
You are a true inspiration for me!

Your car has a lot of power, and you are driving it hard. A few questions:
-What CW / drive shafts do you run? Any issues with them?
-Stock limited slip differential?

Thanks.

Thanks Guys,
Credit goes to Bruce that took the photos. New tyres are needed for sure, The current hoosier R100 are heat cycled out but still have a little rubber left. NEw ones on their way.

We are still running the standard CV's and shafts although from a later, I did break a shaft a few years ago and the replacement set was for a 1989 model. They bolt on. Over the past few seasons we take the driveshafts out every 2-3 track days, clean and inspect them and replace when needed. Repack with lots of grease. Usually we get around 7-10 track track days from a standard CV.

We are using a Modena 60/80 clutch LSD in the gearbox. Although we do not purchase from modena anymore we have been using Guards transmission LSD's. They are a great upgrade for track use. Actually a must.

Regards
Sean

Sean, you seem to be struggling to get the power down on slicks -amazing! So what kind of numbers are you looking at?
Are you running a wet sump? If you are have you had an issues with that given you're on slicks?
Another quick question - did Modena make the diffs for Guard or are they unrelated?

Hi Penguinracer,
Power wise i will just say that we slightly out accelerate a warmed over 2012 GT2 RS in a straight line, We are not big believers in dyno numbers, they can be fudged.

The car is still Wet sump, standard sump, no added baffling. No issues with oiling.

In the past we believed that guards may have purchased from Modena, but they certainly dont anymore. They do make LSD's for 9m though. Although we use a Modena in our own gearbox we now supply Guards to our customers, they are basically the same, except that the guard has ramp plates that you can turn to change the ramp %. And the Guard unit is cheaper.

Sean

Love watching you chase down all the modern machinery Sean. Thanks for sharing.

PS I'm sure you're aware your boost gauge was flying all over the place in video 1. :P
