I do not want to beat a dead horse, but I have a question. I have a completely stock 1987 944 Turbo. I love the car, but would like a little more "seat of your pants" acceleration. What is the best route to go with for a chip? I plan to maybe get a chip and do something with the exhaust to make it more throaty, otherwise I want to keep it stock. What are your recommendations? I do not want to have to the change injectors, add a boast gauge or do any other mods to the car. Thanks in advance.
PS I did read the above "sticky" about modifying the 951, it was well written, but I want to get some other owners experiences.

I just was on ebay and saw the chip. Thanks for the input. It sounds like I need to add a Rogue A-tune chip set to my spring/summer project list.

I added the A-Tune and a 2.5" Bursch Test Pipe and picked up over 40 hp not to mention the car was much more responsive and fun to drive. Here was my Dyno at 15 psi with pump fuel:

regardless of whether a simple chip swap or Rogue's excellent A-Tune...I would agree with above:
test pipe (remove cat)
manual boost control (though you should add a boost gauge, you can always simply set it down in the cubby)
3 bar fuel regulator
as Scott stated a better wastegate is a good idea too
