Kent...was it as obvious as smoke weeping in via the hatch seals? Hard to imagine you can really see it unless you have a Navy destroyer grade smoke cloud.

Check your hatch seal. Seems to be the most common exhaust entry point.

Yup, car smoked like crazy for about 1/2 hr, I was surprised because it only sucked in a ounce or less. Driving down the block, I could easily see the smoke entering the seal.

This is an extremely common issue. Many, if not most 944's have this problem. It's your hatch seal. Now, you may have additional leaks, but bank on the hatch seal being the main culprit.

So after 2 years of trying to trace down the smell, thanks to Fordahl motorsports, I pulled the tail lights and found the seals had failed. Problem solved. Use 3M window gasket ribbon.
