Well i got it wrong, the previous data of 5.51 was bettered by a 100-200kph run of 4.52 i found. There are still many more laps i need to go through to find a faster time. Not to sure how to record the data in a video so i will post 2 pictures instead. You can seee the seconds in the lower left hand corner and the speed next to it. 1st picture is at 100kph 2nd picture is at 200kph. difference in time is 4.42 seconds

This is getting hard to believe... 5.5s was already unreal, but below 5s feels impossible to me. Was this going downhill, or at a crazy boost level?

160 kph with the S2 R&P says beyond 7000rpm in 3rd gear, and since you commented some time ago that the engine was not as rev happy as you thought it should be, I have a hard time getting around these figures. If you include shifting from 3rd to 4th, it makes the figure further hard to believe... Hmmm.

Hi Thomas,
This could be the session that so called time was recorded in
. Im stopwatching at 5 seconds between 100-200 thats a very inaccurate measure though
I too am a bit curious of that time as i just recently googled100-200kph times to get a comparison. Seems fast, real fast. I have emailed the designers of the RaceChrono to find its accuracy, as far as lap times go we are within 0.05second with our official Porsche club transponders. Give or take the start finish line i think. The sampling rate is 5hz, although there is a 10hz option on the external GPS reciever dedication to "performance tests" such as 1/4 mile,0-60, 100-200 etc.

I definaltly do not rev the car past 7000rpm. As previously stated the boost is set at 1.4bar so not over the top. I may go out in a few days and try the performance test mode on 10hz and record the findings. If i could find a road safe enough.
Regards
Sean

There might be some possibility that the sample rate is too slow at 5 per second but as you say, the overall laptimes correspond with the official lap times on the day, so you'd have to assume that your data must be close to the mark.

this is precisely why I would like to see the larger speed intervals....

such as 100~240 kph/[62~149 mph].

Sean, really curious to see if you get different results with higher sampling resolution.
Not saying it's "impossible" to get there, but should be bloody hard with a 951 engine and as the figures Patrick posted show, you would have to have a huge HP engine ... though if this is what your measures may end up telling us about your engine, then that is the worst I am wishing to you!

Curious to know about your level of back pressure, if you get the chance to measure it anytime soon.

Don't think my data log records time, I'm not sure off the capture rate. So I went the mobile phone record

Gtx 3071 0.63 tial

I will be boosting around 40mph so I drove steady at 55 then floored it I would say at best 5.5sec possibly 6

18th gs intake temp running 1.4 bar

Now using a stop watch in 4th 70/100 was 5.4 on my 26/8 1.3 bar

Not sure, will find out.

Would the 0.63 hot housing be restricting my power potential? Boost will not drop off at redline more inclined to climb a little. Will try and up load clip to you tube or something

Using a slower play back rate it would appear I was closer 2 5secs

I hit the limiter, but not quite 100mph marker on the dash. Tires are 285/30/18

Coming in to it on full boost may shave some time. Road was flat / slightly uphill rather then down.

Sean and Thom must be silly quick. As there a whole 40kph In front

Well, to be completely honest I recalibrated my datalogger and after a few pulls yesterday my 100-150 kph time was a consistent 3.4s in 3rd gear.
I have no idea where I got that figure of 2.8s from. My car is I think "reasonably" fast but shouldn't be anywhere as fast as a Caparo T1...!

Here are 2 screenshots of my datalogger. The speed is calibrated within 1% of my sat nav.

18,2 - 14,9 = 3,3s give or take a few tenths.
That is with leaking throttle shaft seals and back pressure climbing a little bit past 6k rpm (mixture is getting rich too, as my hotside is on its knees).

Could the longer gearing be slowing your acceleration down Thomas? did you change a few gear sets 3-6th? After a conversation with Patrick it got us thinking that different gearing would have an effect on the 100-160kph time, I guess it would depend on a few things but a bigger power band will make it faster and where abouts in the rpm range you pass through the 100kph mark. For instance there would be a few cars that have a peaky power band and may jump upwards of 100hp within a 1000rpm range meaning if they pass through the 100kph mark before they reach peak power then should effect the time.
