How rare is a factory rear wiper delete hatch?
I have a line on one from a buddy, and I'm wondering if it's one of those super-rare things like a sunroof delete. I've never seen one before.

The 944's I've owned and seen are not a big deal. Simply a round, metal plug in the glass where the wiper would normally sit. Wouldn't be hard to add after the fact.

Yeah... I'm very familiar with the plug. I mean this hatch has no hole. You could not install a wiper into it, or a plug for that matter.

Interesting. Did not know that. Could it be a replacement glass or was there an option code for what you are asking?

Aftermarket glass? My car has neither a sunroof nor a wiper.

Option M425 is for a Rear Window Wiper, so I would assume that there could be cars without that option. Knowing Porsche, you had to pay extra to remove the option.
Tim, does your hatch still have the hole for a wiper?

If it actually doesnt have a hole, maybe its from an old 924. Never seen any 944 rear hatch w/o a hole in it, either plugged or w/ wiper.

My car does not have the wiring for a wiper, though it did have a wiper when I got it. I assume the hatch was a replacement.

My '89 has no hole/plug/wiper. It is the original hatch.

Huh.. well, ok. The one my buddy has is off of an '89 S2, but it has the foam spoiler, so I guess it could be a replacement glass or from a 924 or...??
