You're late to the party. I'm already back. 400 miles round trip door-to-door.
I'm sending you splitter along with a few other people's parts that were held until after the 1st of the year this week.

This is the missing piece from the #4 cylinder of my 2.5 951 engine.
This engine had ARP headstuds and MLS headgasket, pretty high boost too.
But when the cylinder broke i did not push the engine hard at all.

Sorry to see that happen George - you have quite the devotion to the 944 to keep going!
I have quite a few MIDs out there with lots of miles on them - this is one of the situations where they shine - you can't have this type of failure with an MID engine.
Do you know if this happened under full load or just afterwards? If you have a significant head gasket failure while under load you might not see it on the dyno until you close the throttle - then the coolant will be sucked into the cylinder and hydrolock the cylinder - that could easily blow out the cylinder wall (or bend a rod)

Amazing the similarity in the shape. My guess is the crack starts at the top and propagates nearly straight down then the "ear" rips out catastrophically.

'd love to hear anyone using the MID sleeves to share their experience with their motors with at least 10K on them.
