Default Steering rack issue with my 951

While replacing my oil cooler seal, I decided to do a few while your in there things, motor mounts, bushings, etc. Needless to say, things went wrong. Finally got the crossmember bolted back on, and now the steering rack won't bolt back up.

Loosened the spline, but now the rack won't even line up -- to bolt up. Had to walk away for a month or so. Any advice? Should I remove it completely and try to put it back on, or can I make it work from where I'm at?

Car is on jack stands btw, so not a lot of room.

TIA

well, you're not alone.. I've done this probably a dozen times, and I'd say about half the time, the thing almost falls in, and the other half of the time if fights me for days... I don't think taking it off the spline will help... plus, that's just another headache to add to the whole deal. Good luck!
