The motor was pulled from a Factory Turbo S car back in 2000 to put it into a Wide body 968 Turbo built to run the Rolex 24. I purchased the car and did some club racing and decided to build a new motor to preserve this piece of valuable factory history. The motor was freshened by PCNA in 2000 before the race. The car did not qualify for the 24 hour race and was never raced until I purchased it, so it is in great shape. It comes with the wiring harness and custom tuned DME Motronic by Protosport.

Did the factory engines come with any special parts that couldn't be easily sourced today ?.

Unique block. Unique heads. Unique cam carrier. Unique cam followers (lifters). And so on.

I was told they had some Motronic issues and the Covettes were too fast. They never got a night practice in and it is required to start.
