was the first DOOM by Bob Norwood a 911 or 944 engine?

You of all people...sheeesh...all the Doom motors were actually Bob Norwood himself. There were no floorpans which allowed him to use his mythical strength (a la Fred Flintstone) to power the cars to many records still held in the known Universe. Really disappointed in you for not knowing this...;-)

I don't actually know, but the car in the picture is a 911 not a 944.

it was a 3.6L engine according to his site but I've found, in my searches, that some people think it was a 944 based engine and some people think it was a 911 based engine...
sounds like a 911 because of the 3.6L or a huge 944 big bore...
does anyone actually know?

Apparently, the first DOOM car was a 3.6 911 air cooled engine. That's the car that was stolen.
The next cars, DOOM ll, were tube frame race cars with 968 based engines. The engine was probably the only thing 968 (or porsche for that matter).
