Default Porsche - less for the first time in 15 years - Blacky returns to Ski

After 15 years of 944's (2 S2's and 2 Turbos) circumstances led me to part with my beloved 951 and let her return home to Ski. Not sure what is going in the garage next, but this board has been a great resource of information and an occasional laugh along the way. Definitely one of the best forums out there with many really helpful experts. Thanks to All and God Bless !

Car looks great. I'm sure Ski will thank you for keeping it in such good condition.

Car did 483 miles yesterday in 6 hrs flat, 3 stops, 4 tolls, you do the math. Coolant first white line the whole way. Today she got new windshield, new motor mounts, and then 4 hr drive home from Tulsa to Heber Springs. Tomorrow, new metal vented header goes to paint, 968 spoiler being delivered to me and that will be mounted this weekend.

Meguiars 105 and 205 paint correction, Optima Polish, Lusso Ora Wax, Swissvax Wheel dressing, Meguiars tire coat.

Leather seats matched PERFECT

Next time home these will go on, as will the new 968 hatch that Corey Jump delivered today. Dropped off the vented nose panel at paint today

Here are some shots of the seats, swapping out. Sorry for the grainy cell phone pic...old seat on the left, new on the right.

Next shot is leather samples from the Leatherseat.com and GHAA Linen sample in the middle of the seats. So, I bought the new ones as Linen but you can see they are not to sample, Porsche COA says Light Grey. (another thread I started on this) But the seats match the carpet in the car perfect, console and back seat. Did they age to color, I'll find out later when I give them a good cleaning.

The darker color sample on the original seat is Adobe from leatherseats.com
The two lighter samples are Ivory and Canvas, Ivory matches better. I'm trying to get info from the guy I bought them from where he had them recovered.

Thanks for the compliments again, I want to be like Sam..

I will be selling the old seats for a very good price, I can meet someone in Little Rock or Memphis or Ft Smith - $300. Leather is harder but you see the only flaw in the passenger seat in the pic, driver is excellent with one hard age line, driver is power, pass manual.

Looks great Ski, first time I can remember someone buying a car to match their seats rather than the other way around

No, would have sold them but we swapped several photos and high resolution...it's almost perfect. I'll clean the back seats tomorrow with Scrubbing Bubbles and brush and then see how they match. Door panels and console are great - I couldn't turn down the deal on these seats, leather was $1130 for the guy and I got them well below that.

Not to mention they are SOOOOO soft!!! I cleaned the old ones and took off 25 years of stuff, they changed to a lighter color, albeit still darker than the new ones but just a shade. Separated parts of the 968 hatch to get them to paint by this Friday.

Thanks Jonathan.

Here are the seats, from FS section
Seats are what Porsche calls light grey, I thought it was light tan or grey beige II. Anyway, both are better than good condition and I list them that way because the leather is harder than new. One hard age line on the driver and one tiny pc of foam showing at the leather/center section at one thread. Driver power, both functions worked yesterday before I pulled them. Will deliver to Little Rock, Memphis, or meet within 2 hours of Little Rock. Will break them down for shipping unless someone has an account and wants to leave them together.

$300 + shipping

Miss at 5000 rpm on boost, get off and it would go on boost and not miss - changed cap and all plug wires, miss gone and idle is smooth as butter at 950-975
