my 951 update

History: I’ve had 2 951’s and a 944s in the past. Bought a 951 a couple of months ago that wouldn't engage gear. Also needed a new head. It has 132k on it and it had 2 previous owners.
Work done so far by me: Rebuilt head, new clutch slave, various misc "stuff", and some new 245 16 Bridgestone RE11's. I was worried about tire choices, but Bridgestone released the RE11's literally the day I wanted to buy tires. Since I am running the 928 club sports up front I run 245's all the way around. Great tires--I have them on my other car.
Car notables: '87 Turbo S "clone." K26 #8, Autothority MAF, dyno tuned to run at 1 bar, turbo S tranny w/S2 R&P, Charlie arms, turbo cup sway bars, 30mm torsion bars, Koni adjustables with front coilovers, camber plates, stress bar, 928 clubbies up front, lots of misc stuff, and exhaust. Interior is in great condition with a full leather option. Roll bar with harnesses and race seats.
Car plans: Well, I think I am going to use it as a DE/weekend warrior car. It really is pretty obnoxious on the street since it is really stiff and loud and the roads around here are WORSE than a 3rd world country. Seriously.
What it needs still: Front wheel bearings. I’ve got a nice groan when I turn to the left and load it up. Took the bearing out and it was pretty loose. So, I’ve got those on order now too. It also has a few battle scars I am correcting too.

Looks good. Do you have any more details on the suspension? Assuming it's updated, but it would have to have some seriously stiff springs/valving in there to be super uncomfortable. I've ridden in a 944 that was very firm and it was no so pleasant. Older style shocks with older tech valving could be the issue.

No dash cracks...very rare factory option. Nice looking weekend warrior. What exhaust does it have? Just about any aftermarket exhaust is louder than what you have on the Cayman.

The Cayman has a Milltek catback that sounds pretty good. I'd like to get Fabspeed headers for that one sometime!
