Default sensor situation

Ok guys I just saw this today I jumped into my car battery was drained poped the hood checked the battery everything looked fine so I just closed the hood then I heard something turn on so I opened it up again as soon as I opened it it turned off and saw this wire poped outta place I reached to try to put it back in place as I did it the tip touched on the intake manifold so I just tried putting it back but I looks like it was broken somehow I tried turning on the car but she's running funky i tried looking up this sensor but no luck so now maybe one of you guys know thanks!

Turbo coolant temp sensor. Used to tell the electric coolant pump to turn on. Wouldn't affect how the car runs.

Not really. It will only affect how long the turbo coolant pump runs after you turn off the car.

If you ground that wire it will turn on the coolant pump will it not? Then the pump runs until it kills the battery. I will head to my garage and test that theory later this morning

That happened on mine when I first bought the car and the coolant pump would not turn off ever. Had to unplug the harness because it would kill the battery.

I ended up buying a new pump and thermo-switch.
