Bigger undercut valves will gain regardless of the cam. Just tge stems alone are restrictive. I'm running a stock cam with a ported head and it has even gained. It's worth it IMO if you want to make "real" easy power.

I would still do the orings and use the wide fire. No point in leaving weak spots that can be avoided.
