At the hospital we call Diabetes "the silent killer", you will have to keep those blood sugar levels in control man. If not it will damage your kidneys and so much more. Pls take it seriously
If you need a glucose meter shoot me a pm I have some in the warehouse.

Diabetes is not a quick death. If you have good control complications are low. I am not the best at it. Heck my a1c's haven't been great as of the past few months, but I know that is my fault. Check your BG's often to stay on top of them.

Yikes, I'm glad you're doing better Lart, that could have had a much different ending. Granted, I'm not one to chastise, I eat too many sweets, don't exercise enough (made worse by me spraining my ankle back in July), and I'm so doctor/needle/blood-phobic that I haven't been to my primary care doc in probably 6 or more years. I'll be making an appointment for a physical this week because of this thread.

Hey, Luis,
Just get yourself better. I had a similar issue about 18 months ago. Did the physical with blood draw after an 8 hr fast. My doc chewed me a new one over my BS being around 375. Man, I have learned more about blood sugar since then. I manage to keep mine around 115-150 now days. Get a decent glucose meter and some strips and monitor every morning before you eat. Hell, for the 1st few weeks, monitor before and after a meal. Amazing to watch how the blood sugar swings. A real learning experience for me.
Just take care of yourself and stay away from the sugar and simple carbs.
