Default FS: 1987 Porsche 944 turbo (Texas)

SOLD

I am selling the 951. It is located in Grand Prairie, TX, has 172,000 miles on the clock and is a very clean 951 for having that many miles. Exterior is guards red and is 9/10. Interior is black and only needs a dash to be just as nice.

I put some pics up on my iCloud here, including interior. I need to really clean the carpets which look dull but for now here's what I've got - https://www.icloud.com/photostream/#A15oqs3qD5uOr

I'm still looking for the car that I'll be buying to replace this so I'm not looking to sell this today per se, but I wanted to get the word out on here. I listed it on craigslist for a week or so and got several interested parties and one last night came out to check it out, but I'm actually hoping I'll have a couple weeks before it sells to get the new car situation in order.

We've had our first baby, now 5 months old so we need both cars to be able to take him around and I've decided it's time to move on. Not an easy decision, but I love the new little kiddo and he's definitely worth it!

Anyway, so the car was repainted in 2010 and was done right. I posted the pics on here when it was being done. Aldo at Mister Collision in Dallas knows his paint and body. He's even got my car up on his website photo gallery. Whole car was done and still looks great.

I had the belts and rollers done in March 2011 at 162,000 miles.
Head gasket replaced and valves redone in June. Race wear studs put in, wide fire gasket, etc.. Old head gasket had ~ 140,000 miles on it and #4 had started leaking / gasket blowing out. No issues since.
All the wheels I had restored / refinished and they look new.

I have a stack over an inch thick of maintenance records going back to the original purchase of the car. I'm the 3rd owner. I bought the car in 2005.

Needs dash repair to make the interior really special. Looking into options here, but will likely sell as is.\
Cruise control issues. Works sometimes, sometimes not.

Windshield washer pump needs replaced. I have the parts ordered, waiting to receive so I can fix this one. (FIXED)
Needs airbag warning light reset from when I replaced turn signal stalk. I will be doing this prior to sale. (FIXED)
Needs rear defroster fixed. Blows a fuse when turned on. (FIXED)
Needs rear wiper fixed. Motor is good, but not turning on. (FIXED)
Needs front left wheel re-repaired (not balancing). (FIXED!)

Some of the mods I have are in my signature. The next thing I had planned was the RogueAnt MAF/MAP upgrade which would require a DME 24-28pin conversion, but never pulled the trigger on that. Motor and turbo pull very strong. I pulled on a buddy of mine who owns a 2011 Dodge Charger Mopar edition (370hp) about a month ago from a roll. He wasn't pleased. It was close, but I had him by half car-length.

Asking price $8500. I may go the eBay route but wanted to let you guys take a look first.

Here are some more.. included a photo of the a/d/s amplifier mounted to a custom amp rack. The rack also houses the front channel crossovers for the 6.5" components in the door panels.

Here are some photos of when the car was repainted March '09. I had new door and roof seals, and new heat shields under the hood when they put everything back together.

I fixed the rear wiper, rear defroster and re-connected airbag / reset airbag light on the dash (airbag was disconnected from when I installed a new turn signal stalk last year). I also ordered parts to fix the windshield washer, new pump, new lines, etc..

Still working on the cruise control computer. Cruise is intermittent. I have a spare I'm going to pop in but not sure it is good either. That thing is a pain to get to!

Where was this car 2 years ago? This would have been exactly what I was looking for.

Aw sorry man I didn't have any kids 2 years ago! Ha.

--Update--

I took the wheels in to get checked and rebalanced and found front driver side wheel was not balancing right. I'm having it repaired and new front tires put on since mine were just getting to the wear bars.

I would have never guessed it has that many miles judging by the pics. It's obvious you cared for this car! It's real clean and looks good! Good luck with the sale!

+1
I promise, even the wife tore me a new one, I'd buy it if my son if he was 15 and he could spend the next making little tweaks, learning to drive it and at 16 let him have it. No, an irresponsible 16 yo doesn't need one but for the straight A, Beta Club VP, Football, God Pleasers - I'd give him a shot.

Thanks for the compliments. Today I got a new windshield washer pump from Ian at 944online and got the washers working.

Get that thing outta here, neighbor! I want to have the nicest 951 in DFW and you're killing my odds!

It looks beautiful and well put together. I like the interesting stereo setup, especially the a/d/s/ amp. Sigh! GLWS. And congrats on the new little one- just had a boy myself. Trying to hang tough here with my 951.
