Once again Awesome! I look forward to seeing the curve. I sorted out a few things on my car and will be installing an EBC in a couple days (thanks Jonathan) and hope to be back at the dyno Thursday night. Pretty sure I can get 30-40 hp more out of it with my current turbo.

Dana its in Arvada. Josh is getting ready to make some changes on his NA and that's what I initially came down for.

Shawn, I think Josh is gonna do an overlay of mine and yours for comparison. I looked back at yours and you are making more low end before 4000 rpms. Looking at mine though it goes from 250lbft to 500 in about 2 seconds.

Just to clarify Sid. On your current motor that you've just dyno'd this is a what, 2.9L? So the stroke is the main difference to other bigger turbo 951 motors? Are you saying that this is key to giving you more power than others with similar specc'd motors? Of course the tune is extremely important but from what I've seen,
a few of the E85 crowd seem to have fairly similar ign maps.

Patrick, it's 2.85L

The stroke, reciprocating weight, the way I did my combustion chamber design, my port work, the bigger bore, the exhaust. It all adds up plus the BMW TB and a few other items.

It's a pretty well sorted combo I think. Considering this is right off the road and not fully tuned.

I really have to thank Josh for getting me this far!!!

Makes sense given my turbo. Your curve will certainly be useful to determine if/when i change my turbo.

some facts..

You thought it was a true 550rwhp but, it dynoed at 540rwhp. You think you can gain 100 hp from bigger valves and a cam, 2+2=4, 550 doesn't = 540, Spending money on hookers and beer is fun too. You have a 2.85 so, not a 3ltr, your timing is 22degrees at 6000rpm at 22psi or 24 but, I can't remember. You run E85 which is like 110 but not really. regardless it is better than 93. You didn't record the temps but you ran hotter today than you do at the track. I like warm walks on the beach, you think you can get 750rwhp from an 8v but, 16v maybe required but, that is with the 2.85 and not the 3.1+ltr stroked and bored block.

So let's do some math...

550-540=10, 2+2 is still 4, E85-93+93 is still close to 110 but isn't, especially given the time of year. 3-2.85=.15 which is not 3.1+ but neither is 16v = to 8v because of the 8v head, you can't fit 8 more valves.. you ran 480 at 18-22+4 which is 22psi which = 540. ok, this is where it gets tricky and I have to check my math..

750-540= 210

You need to gain 210rwhp more by adding . 2 or .3 cc's and retaining an 8v head..

My final thoughts..

It's gonna be hard.

Sid upped his timing after that timing thread on Reutterwerk. He's well above 30 degrees advance at redline I would guess.

Thats gold Dave .I cant understand any of that, does anyone have a converter for english. I would imagine 750hp has to be easier then a 1000hp =)

Ok, it appears I might not have all the facts right but some of the math is right.

750-540=210 and 540-750=-210

To sum it up,

While it is possible to achieve 210 less hp, it may be hard to gain an additional 210.

Ok, obviously, I'm having fun and I wish I was drunk. Instead, I'm running a marathon in the am and I'm very much sober.

Is making a 750rwhp goal crazy?? No, its cool. Hell, I started a 1000rwhp thread!! The point is, 600, 700, 800, 1000rwhp is all hard to do.

My thread went to hell fast and that is NOT my intent here. In fact, I really want Sid to make his goal, just as I want to make mine. The whole board and lurkers(don't want to leave those sneaky bastards out) would love to see and learn!
