Default TonyG > Feeler for selling my red 951 LS6 street/track car complete..

Everyone

I had planned to take pretty much everything off my current red car and use it on my new car. But as it turns out, the only thing that I'd be reusing would be the engine and transmission.

So I'm thinking I might just sell the car as-is, complete ready to drive and just build a bigger engine for the new car.

Just as an FYI, it's a almost new highly modified LS6 making 461RWHP and 400RWTQ on 91 pump gas. S2 trans with Guard 50/80 with custom 22"x6 oil cooler with pump and filter (same size as the engine oil cooler). New Spec stage 2.5 clutch assembly with billet pressure plate option. New custom valved Bilstein Escorts/new Racer's Edge billet hubs/new spindles from Porsche, new 968 control arms. Full Racer's edge spherical joints / solid mounted everything. 996 GT3 front and rear brakes (14"/13") with Boxter ABS. 6lbs OMP carbon seat ($2800) with new (3 month old) Schroth 6 point harness. Front and rear aero. Glass front end, rear bumper and lexan hatch and quarter windows. 17x11" custom Cup2 rims running 315's on all 4 corners.

The engine started out as a brand new LS6. We put in LS7 rod bolts, pinned the crank, smaller crank pulley, fly-cut valve reliefs into the pistons, CNC ported the heads, TI valve springs and retainers, 102mm FAST intake, larger injectors and custom fuel pressure regulator, 95mm TB, 1.8 rockers, Futral F-16 cam. Running pure speed density... no MAF. It also has a water pump setup for high rpm operation.

RH aluminum radiator with 22"x6" Mocal oil cooler and Mocal thermostat. It also has a powersteering cooler, with Turn 1 pump, with new powersteering rack.

The car will run with anything normally aspirated that Porsche sells today.

The cage is a bolt in cage that has the front bar at the windshield relocated and welded in for more head room, and another welded in bar on the drivers door side for extra protection.

new Sparco steering wheel with a new Rothsport disconnect and push-to-talk Nascar cables, with radio holder, and helmet to radio cables hard wired.

16 GB Chase cam front & rear cam system with mixer (picture in picture) with accelerometer for G force over lays. Cool Suit system (switched from dash) (no shirt), GPS Lap Timer,

No a/c, no heat, no side windows. RSR style door panels over gutted doors (doors have side impact beams). 911 style head liner over gutted roof.

The list is very LONG. But it's got pretty much the best of the best everything.

And...

It's registered and insured! Street Legal.

And... it's the fastest street legal car running street tires (NT01's) that I've ever seen or heard of lapping WSIR at a 1:26

Should I part it or try to sell it whole?

Maybe I'll ebay it and see what happens...

If I part it I would keep the trans as a spare/primary for me.

Although I do have a spare S2 non-LSD trans that I might get rid of.

No way. Those boxes are $22k to rebuild. And I haven't seen very many many make it more than one season of racing.....

On the other hand... Vision is looking at 996GT3 rear suspension :-)

That rebuild cost doesn't sound right to me. That's the cost to purchase one.

$35k exactly as it sits with everything in it. It needs nothing mechanically. Cosmetically it needs to be cleaned up a little. It's got a couple of small dents and it's got 4 years of track time on the body. I could make it look like new for $600-$700

And BTW... at $35k... it's at least $10k-$12k less than what it would cost to build this car starting with a good 951.

This car will beat 98% of all the cars you see on the race track on any given day.

It's got many podium finishes in the brutal GT2 POC class... on street tires... on 91 pump gas!

And.... it can be driven to and from the track.

It's far exceeded my expectations about what I could do with a street legal car.

I just want everything between the front of the torque tube and the radiator!
The rest of my car is remarkably similar in spec.

Mine is registered and insured... street legal with plates.

Is yours?

So what are the specs on your car? I remember you had big brakes. Did you get aftermarket ABS?
