Default Proper Idle ajustement 944 turbo

Question:

on both sites (clarks & Lindsey) about Idle speed adjustments, on a 944 turbo,

when you jump the isv, should you leave the jumper in or should you remove it before adjusting the idle screw???

I'm no mechanic, and it's not clear for me.

thanks

Leave the jumper in, until you are done adjusting the idle.

Thanks Joshua,

that's exactly what I did minutes ago, for the first time.

My isv is making some buzzing noise suddenly, I took it out cleaned it with carb cleaner, put it back, same noise.

Does a ISV that makes buzzing noise means that it needs to be replaced???

The ISV shouldn't be very noisy... So, not sure if that you should replace it, but probably.

I've never heard any noise from an ISV. I'll go power up one of my spares on the bench and see if it makes noise, but I'm pretty sure if anything it's just a soft hum.

Edit: darn near silent. Only clicks when it hits the end of the travel, and not that loud.

I just came back from the best ride in my life with 951. I've been adjusting the idle for the last 2 years the wrong way. No more popping in the exhaust, exellent power (vitesse stage 1 kit), smooth etc...

The isv is still buzzing.

Only thing I noticed is that on idle, I'm at 1100rpm (after adjusting at 925rpm)
But it's not steady.
If I touch the acceleration just a bit, it will place it self back to 925rpm at idle

could that be my isv?

My tps is 2 years old, well adjusted with the click sound.

more likely to be a sticky return spring or throttle cable ?

Wish I could get mine to idle at 1000 rpm - one reason I'll have to get the M-Tune when it's 100% finished (Josh - don't get too sidetracked with the VNT

If you can hear your ISV over a running engine I'd guess that's probably not normal.

On my car if I hear anything above the whir of the accessory belts it's the injectors click-clacking away.
