I have a question concerning front strut assemblies. I know the 86 turbo is unique in that unlike the 86 n/a cars, it does not have rebuildable struts; yet it retains the early offset. I have M474 suspension in my car and the front passenger side is getting a bit soft, so I plan to get a hold of some cheap stock strut housings to hacksaw for new koni inserts. would front struts from an 87+ n/a car be suitable donors? they are easier and cheaper to get ahold of than 951 struts. Out of curiosity would front struts from a late offset 951 fit? Should I just hack up my M474 struts?

Scratch that, I forgot the turbo spindles are different from the n/a ones regardless of year. My question regarding the ability to drop in a front suspension from a late offset 951 still stands. Anyone have good used struts for sale?

87 on NA struts will work as will any of the Turbo struts and S2 and 968 for that matter. The S2 and 968 strut use a different diameter spring so you'll have to do some mixing and matching but not a big deal.

Thanks Jason, that was exactly what I had initially thought and exactly what I wanted to hear. Are the non 474 or 030 optioned turbo cars equiped with the same inserts as the 87+ n/a cars?
