Need some help! 1986 951
Hey everybody, I have an 86 951 in Guards Red. It is my first car and I have a few questions. If you could help it would be greatly appreciated.
1. I want to change my wheels to something with a more "flush" look. I was wondering what you would reccomend, size, offset, suspension mods. I am also wondering if my car has late or early offset. My car does not have abs as it is an 86.
2. I was considering upgrading to Lindsey racing 55 lbs injectors, a new air filter, and Lindsey racing 951 chips. What will it do to my Fuel consumption on 93 octane Shell V-Power pump gas.
3. I just moved to Hernando County, Florida. I was wondering what is the best oil, weight, and viscosity for my climate. I do daily this car less than 15 miles a day.
ANY HELP AT ALL WILL GREATLY BE APPRECIATED THANK YOU!

Wow a 951 for a first car! Talk abot the deep end of the pool! I guess I'm gonna be the first one to tell you that all the basic maintance should be done first!
Car needs to be running correctly before you start modding it!
That's a Max chip your talking about. I have that If you plan on always driving your 951 like you stole it, they are great. But for a more balanced setup I'd go here...

pretty much a no brainer! If you really want the Max chip..just wait around, they will show up as people upgrade!

1) you are early offset. Fiske wheels look awesome on there. Do a search for most beautiful Porsche.
2)a true MAF setup is what you want. I'd go with the rogue setup
3) depending on how hot it is I'd use 20w50 but let the car warm up a bit before driving
Like mentioned, preventative maintenance. See thread above.

Thank you for your help. Yes My 951 in Forza Motorsport 4 has the Fikse FM10's they are amazing. and my car has 85k and had the timing, water pump and new seals done less than 2,000 miles ago. I do need to do a MAF setup, injection service and pressure test my turbo intake for leaks and then I will start with some bigger upgrades.

20W50 is what I ran year round unless it looked like it was going to be cold for a while, then I moved down to 15W50.
I hope you're enjoying our beautiful summer weather!

Rogue tuning MAF and OZ has some light good looking wheels. I run 0w-40 European Porsche spec Mobil one. I am also a fan of Valvoline VR1 in 20-50. Make sure to use OEM oil filter with backflow or check valve. Puralator's premium line are good for local acquired parts stores.
