at the end of all this, what is a good 3.0l crank going for and are they available. How much cheaper for a ground one (or one that needs to be ground), and are they available?

Hi, yes I am aware the 2.7 crank girdle would need modification thanks to advice given here . I thought about using early turbo rods for a while but decided against it, my build budget keeps growing.
