I do need to get down to Barber, the track looks amazing. I have a feeling CMP will be my first trip back to the track, a good place to put this car through its paces, while still being just a short drive from my garage.

Another pair of new shoes for the 951, I think these are going to be the track wheels.

It was a good weekend for the 951, with the wife out of town I was able to take a few things off the to do list:

- Replaced a leaking power steering line
- Replaced the tie rod ends
- Found and fixed the last heat shield rattle
- Installed the 968 club sport coin tray
- Plasticoated the ash tray (inside)
- Did some paint repair on the passenger rear 1/4

I still need to take care of the cross over pipe (full of holes), and put a new set of brake pads on, but I think she is almost ready for track time.

Checked another item off the list, the new brake pads are on and the calipers have much more bite. I am having some issues bleeding the passenger side front caliper, but it isn't the caliper (I swapped in a spare to check). It is either blockage in the hard line, a bad soft line, or the master cylinder. I have a spare master, and new SS hoses are on order, so I hope to have that minor issue solved soon.

Also picked up another set of wheels, Forgeline RS's. I think these are going to look great once they are fully polished up like the one on the left.

Hey Ian,
You should bring it out to the 944Fest next month. It looks like we have pretty large group driving up this year from the NC / SC area.

Travis,

One of these years I will be making it up to the 944 Fest, but this is not going to be the year. Family stuff is already planned for that weekend, and it will be best to keep the happy wife, happy life thing going.

TD and David,

The Forgelines were another impulse purchase, but I think they look great on the 951. Seeing Alan's 951 with them was all I needed to push the purchase over the edge.

Alan's car:

Hey Ian,

Looks you are almost there. Btw, I have a power bleeder if you need to use it.

Richard,

I do have a power bleeder in the garage, and that is what I was using to flush the system. The flow from the passenger side caliper is lower than the other three. It seems like there is some blockage in the system, and my initial guess was the caliper (why I swapped in a spare). I'm not sure the new SS lines will do the trick, but it worth the swap because the ones on the car are quite old and needed to be replaced anyway. If there are still issues at that point I plan on pulling the master cylinder and then using the compressor to blow some air through the hard line.

TD,

I think the internet was invented so that people can quietly stalk other folks, that is what Al Gore was going for when he invented it. So if you and I are stalking Alan or more accurately his car, well then that is ok.
